Hungarians are into action in Gaza

Baptists help Palestinians as well as Israelites

On Thursday, the 1st of January Hungarian medical team was granted permission, and started working officially in Egypt. The team of BWAid Rescue24 visited Palestinians recovering in Nasser Hospital in Cairo, and they also assisted in a scull-operation caused by Gazan bombing. Leaders of Hungarian Baptist Aid is seeking opportunities of Israelite children to come to Hungary and dwell as guests of the organisation.

The report of Csaba Lukács from Cairo:
’I played on the street when sudenly bombs began to fall’ – tells the 13 years old Attala Abid in Nesser hospital, Cairo. He is one of the 79 Palestinian injured who mamaged to get through the border to Egypt in Rafah until yesterday late afternoon. The boy’s leg is severely injured, but he is in a better condition than Hammed Zeki, a 21 years old university student, whose leg had to be amputated above the knee. The young man got injured at university, the bombs did not respect the institution either. Neither did they have mercy on the hospital: there is a patient at the casualty department who had got injured in the first minutes of the attack on Gaza, and had been taken to hospital, then got injured again when the building was hit and the ceiling fell on him. But he is not the only one with serious injuries in Gaza, a 26 years old paramedic was hurt while he tried to help others, he is in coma and being cared of at the ICU presently. A young boy was wounded together with his 14 years old sister, the girl died immediately.
’My house is ruined, I don’t know where my kids are, I’m desperate.’ – says an adult man in the hospital, whose limbs are broken, he cannot move. ’In a few minutes exposives with the power of hundreds of tonns of TNT were dropped on our area, we did’n even have a chance to escape’ – he tells. The patients in the hospital agree on one thing: the 70% of the peole injured during the attacks of Israel are civilians.
The 3 member group of BWAid Rescue24 visited all the Palestinian injured attended in Cairo, in addition the doctors, who are qualified az anesteiologists as well, even took part in the skull operation of one of the patients. Egypt hosted only 79 Palestinian injured until yesterday afternoon. The arriving people say that the statment of local autorities is not true, not the Hamas, the local authorities closed the border hermeneutically at Rafah. Who mamaged to get out say the medical state of the attacked area is catastrophic: the hospitals can hardly deal with the mass of injured, the patients lie for hours without help, and they are running out of bandage and madicine.
The baptist doctors granted permission from the Egypitan medical authorities yesterday, so in the future they are free to practice in the country. In Nasser hospital Cairo 4 Palestinian were operated yesterday and another 4 seriusly wounded people were treated at the ICU, further 26 people are being cured on the floor secluded for them. The hospital, which is a 20 years old modern institution, is prepared to host 100 people. In the following days the baptist doctors will take care of the Palestinians together with their Egypitan collegues, but they will move to Gaza as soon as the borders will be opened.
