Zoltán Venczel and Balázs Révész are in Afghanistan now for two weeks and they will officially close the midwife training course. This course trained 22 women for 1, 5 year and now they will be able to perform the delivery and to fight against infant mortality.

The Corvinus University of Budapest organised the NGO Expo this year as well. The Hungarian Baptist Aid participated at this event with other twenty NGO’s.

The Rescue24’s two world-famous rescue dogs and their owner László Balázs visited our ’House of Sedulous Hands’ in Göd, a house which employs disabled people. The 10 year old Döme’s and the 5 year old Aqua’s performance was greatly appreciated.

László Balázs with Aqua, Zsófia Eged with Morris, László Garai with Brutus took part in the International Competition race organized for rescue dogs in the Czech Republic. They all got into world’s front lead.

The Hungarian Baptist Aid in cooperation with other NGO-s initiate law amending in the issue of domestic violence. From the victim’s perspective the laws are not in balance with the jurisdiction.

Thanks to the ministry for foreign affairs invited applications that the Hungarian Baptist Aid won, in 2009 we will be able to continue our medical aid program in Afghanistan.

We had a possibility to discuss about the Millennium Developement Goals on 17th March to the teachers of Péter András Secondary School.

The Hungarian Baptist Aid organised a visit for a special rescue team at the community home of Bicske. The co-worker of the Rescue24, László Balázs, brought three rescue dogs whose performance was a great entertainment for the handicapped who live in the community home.

Police Training
With the support of the Social and First Commissioner of Works Department, the training among policemen can be continued. The leaders of the ’Street front’ programme, Miletics Marcell and Phd. Németh Zsolt colonel last year visited most districts of Budapest and gave series of lectures to those policemen and leaders of social institutes who are involved in drug issues.

Due to the economic crisis the needs of the people is constantly increasing, therefore the Hungarian Baptist Aid will start its ’Crisis Point’ programme from April throughout the whole country.
